She was ready to leave the studio, to make a public appearance, fully concealing her body, her radiant attire, face and head. She found the exit with some effort and left. Although it was her most beautiful day, and she had meticulously chosen her outfit, even though a significant historic day and a grand celebration lay ahead, concealing and pretending not to exist were an inevitable part of her life.
For years, as part of my professional work, I have done portrait and wedding photography. Over these years, I have seen many women who, on their wedding day, covering their heads and faces upon leaving the studio, Covering transformed them into an unrecognizable being that did not resemble the person I knew.
