To have an eye on the road, or simply, to await the arrival of something, is the state I wish to experience when facing my artwork. This means constantly looking at the artwork while still passing by it.
To grasp the meaningful role of this artwork, you must continuously gaze at it as you pass by, for in this encounter and passage, it is only for a brief moment that each word finds its place and its full role is realized. As the observer continues moving past the artwork, the image comes apart once more, and the sight is lost.
In this fascinated and constant gaze necessary for understanding the artwork, the concept of ‘an expectant eye’ make sense. “ I long for your presence with gazing on the path” is the title of a famous poem by the eminent contemporary Iranian poet Nima Youshij.”
