Mahla Biglari is a visual artist who lives and works in Iran. She received her B.A. in photography from the Tehran University of Art in 2005, graduating with honors. She also has an Associate’s degree in graphic design from Technical & vocational Training University and has received a certificate for a one-year filmmaking course with a high ranking from the “Iranian Youth Cinema Society” in 1999.
Her artistic endeavors revolves around social themes and the role of individuals within society, with a particular emphasis on the challenges faced by women. Through her artistic expressions, she delves the origins of social and cultural constraints and tribulations and through her artistic work, optimistically seeks to find meaning in social suffering and challenges and pursue a quest for transformation and improvement.
Her interest in using mirrors in her artworks is a reflection of her emphasis on the individual’s role in societal matters. It acts as a continual reminder to her viewers, encouraging them to acknowledge their influential role in shaping their world.
Her artistic voyage is an introspective one, she’s striving to gain self-awareness through the examination and consideration of social issues, and she’s endeavoring to convey this theme in her creations.”
Mahla’s artistic creations have been showcased in sum individual and group exhibitions, and her global perspective is further enriched through her active participation in international workshops. She also shares her knowledge and insights by teaching at universities and independent institutes.
